Each of us, when growing up, most likely had a person to look up to, be it a musician, an actor, or maybe even an older sibling. We dressed like them, spoke like them and, most of all, wanted to become them. In the case of the new Audi Q3 Sportback, its Q8 older sibling seems to be its guiding light.
Just like how the Q8 is a sharper-looking but less practical derivative of the Audi Q7, the Q3 Sportback takes the regular Q3 family SUV and drizzles it with a bit of coupé-inspired style. The changes are mainly to the Q3’s posterior, with the roofline tapering more heavily towards the Sportback’s smaller rear window, and there’s also a more aggressive rear bumper.
The engine choice mimics the regular Q3’s range of petrol and diesel engines, with power outputs ranging from 148 to 227bhp. You also get a choice between front or four-wheel drive (quattro) as well as a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
The Q3 Sportback is aimed directly at other ‘style-conscious’ cars, such as the BMW X2 and Range Rover Evoque. However, is the Q3 Sportback as fun to drive as an X2 or as quiet as a Evoque? This review will answer those, and plenty of other important questions for you, so keep on reading.
