Although there's nothing new about pint-sized SUVs, the Audi Q2 was one of the first to combine compact dimensions with a premium badge on its snout. But while it’s about the same size as a Seat Arona and Renault Captur, it costs as much as the larger Skoda Karoq and Seat Ateca.

Under the bonnet, you’ll find a selection of petrol and diesel engines delivering between 113bhp and 187bhp. Unlike some rivals, you can have four-wheel drive, albeit only on the most potent petrol and diesel variants.
